The Chandler Police Department wants you to get involved in this year's G.A.I.N. event, Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods.

G.A.I.N., which focuses on neighborhoods' participation in crime prevention, will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 22 at Chandler Police headquarters, 250 E. Chicago St., and in various in neighborhoods with Block Watch groups.

The event provides the city and block watch groups a day to celebrate the success of crime prevention.

Groups having gatherings in neighborhoods can register for a visit from members of the department's different units, such as the K-9 unit and patrol. There will be a kick-off and lottery for those special visits from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Sept. 24 at police headquarters to ensure all groups have a chance to request police specialty units at their block parties.

Information: (480) 782-4967.
