Chandler Regional Medical Center is now a Level I trauma center, which means they will be able to treat people in need of the highest level of emergency care. That includes people with stab or gunshot wounds and those injured in car, motorcycle or ATV accidents.
People that had these types of severe injuries previously had to be transported to Scottsdale or Phoenix for treatment, but by having a trauma center in Chandler will ensure quicker transport and treatment times in the future.
In the last year, Chandler Regional created new policies and procedures while training staff to meet the needs of people with such severe injuries. The new designation was coordinated with the opening of the new Tower C which will expand the emergency area, make more space for operating rooms and add 96 beds when it opens later this year.
