An accident that sent a vehicle rolling into the yard of a pottery store Wednesday morning left a Chandler man in extremely critical condition at a local hospital.

The 36-year-old man was driving with his 33-year-old wife north on Cooper Road toward Chandler Heights about 10 a.m., when their Toyota Sequoia drifted into the southbound lane, said police spokesman Sgt. Rick Griner.

The man overcorrected. The sport utility vehicle struck a fence, then rolled into the yard of Potteryland, 23843 S. Cooper Road, Griner said. Both he and his wife were ejected.

He was flown by medical helicopter to Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn hospital with life-threatening injuries. She was flown to Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix with non life-threatening injuries.
