It's the time of year we all look forward to here in Chandler. The start of February brings the best temperatures, the prospect of more outdoor activities and the excitement of spring training approaching on the horizon. To help get you in the spring mood and keep you active or learning new skills, the City of Chandler Recreation Division's spring Break Time magazine is now available at many City facilities or online at www.chandleraz.gov/breaktime. It features a variety of all-ages classes for March, April and May, including spring intersession youth camps from March 14-25. Sonoran Sunset Series Music
The Environmental Education Center (EEC) hosts its Sonoran Sunset Series outdoor entertainment on Thursday, Feb. 10. The Mwaba Children's Choir will perform songs at 6 p.m. and refreshments will be available for a small fee. The EEC is located at the northeast corner of Lindsay and Chandler Heights roads. Daddy Daughter Valentine's Day Dance
Fathers and their special little girls can create some special memories at the Daddy Daughter Valentine's Dance Friday, February 11 from 6-8 p.m. at the Chandler Community Center. There is $25 per couple ($34 for non-residents). The dance is intended for fathers and their daughters' ages 4-10. If dad is unavailable, moms or guardians are welcome to attend. There will be music, dancing, contests, crafts and dinner. Parents are required to register before the event at any Chandler Recreation facility. Call 480- 782-2641 for more information.
Chandler Teen Programs Snowboard Trip
Do you love the snow? Chandler Teen Programs is offering a Snowboard/Ski Trip on Saturday, Feb. 12 to the Snowbowl to hit the slopes. The fee is $30 ($41 for non-residents). Hershey Track Meet - Sign Up by Feb. 18!
The annual Hershey Track & Field Meet will be held on Saturday, March 5 at 7:30 a.m. at Chandler High School. Boys and girls ages 7-14 can sign up to participate by Friday, Feb. 18. The application is available at all Chandler Recreation facilities and online at www.chandleraz.gov/youth-sports. There is a $4 fee ($6 for non-residents). Call 480-782-2704 for more information.
Tumbleweed Recreation Center (TRC) will host its popular parent and toddler drop-in activities "Bubble Blast" and "Bikes, Bounce & Boogie" from 9-11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9 and Feb. 23.
