A Holocaust remembrance ceremony sponsored by Chandler High School teachers and city employees is planned for Monday at the Chandler Center for the Arts.
The event, in the center's foyer, on the northwest corner of Chandler Boulevard and Arizona Avenue, will run from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. It will feature speeches by Holocaust survivors and relatives. The event is free and open to the public.
At 5:30 p.m., a commemoration event featuring the documentary "Why We Remember" will be available to those who purchase tickets. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for seniors and students, and are available by through the Center for the Arts at www.chandlercenter.org, or call (480) 897-0588.
Participants will include the U.S. Holocaust Museum, the Invisible Children of Uganda, the Student Anti-Genocide Coalition-Darfur, the Anti-Defamation League and the Chandler Human Relations Commission.
