Arizona seeks applicants for environmental advisory council

The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality is seeking nominations with backgrounds in sustainability, environmental management systems, and/or compliance assurance to serve on an advisory council for instituting the Arizona Voluntary Environmental Stewardship Program.

The program came about from House Bill 2799, which was signed into law by Gov. Jan Brewer earlier this year. The program will provide recognition and incentives for organizations that have a good history of environmental compliance.

Nominations are due Oct. 23. Those interested must submit a letter of intent and resume to: Ian Bingham, ADEQ Ombudsman, 6th Floor, 1110 W. Washington St., Phoenix, Ariz., 85007, or it to fax, (602) 771-4897. Email letters are being accepted at idb@azdeq.gov.
