Chandler has once again earned the title of “Playful City USA” from KaBOOM!
The nonprofit organization is honoring 213 cities for local policies that increase play opportunities for children.
“The City of Chandler has some fantastic parks, playgrounds, aquatic centers and other recreational amenities for children of all ages,” said Chandler Mayor Jay Tibshraeny. “We are proud to be a Playful City USA for the sixth straight time, because it shows that our community is committed to developing healthy, fulfilled children and families.”

I live in Mesa but love to visit a Chandler Park to fish. The park is beautiful and very peaceful. As a citizen of Mesa it is very upsetting that we only have one park to go to now; and that park isn't very enjoyable to visit. Since they have taken one of our parks away from us (Riverview), I wish they would try to develope another one (or more) that is comparable to Chandler's Park. I think the population of Mesa would dictate that more than 1 park is needed. There is very little cheap entertainment left for low income families and I think therefore more parks is the answer. Parks entertain both old and young. How many families can afford to go to any sporting event?
