A parolee who spent 4 1/2 years in prison for burglary offenses was arrested on suspicion of returning to his old ways a day after he was released.
Police said Charles Payne, 45, was arrested Oct. 28 after throwing a rock through the window of a Goodwill store and searching for cash in the store registers at 1095 S. Arizona Ave. Overall, he broke into 10 businesses along Arizona Avenue in downtown Chandler, according to police.
Payne, who was released from prison Oct. 25, first burglarized the Downtown 109 Salon at 109 W. Boston St. shortly after 10 p.m. on Oct. 26, before breaking into an Arizona Firestone at 320 S. Arizona Ave. about 11 p.m. that night, police said.
Payne is accused of committing six burglaries Oct. 27 in less than two hours’ time, and two within four minutes of each other. Police said he admitted to burglarizing the businesses.

Looks like Mr. Payne learned nothing from his incarceration. I presume he had no intention of finding a job. SERIOUSLY, people released from prison should have SOMEWHERE to go for 30 days or so to try and restore some kind of sanity to their situations before just hitting the streets.
