The Chandler City Council voted unanimously Thursday to name Councilmember Jeff Weninger as the city's new vice mayor. The term begins immediately and will run through Jan. 10, 2013. Vice Mayor Weninger follows Trinity Donovan, whose term as vice mayor expired Jan. 12.
"I'm excited for this opportunity and appreciate the Council's support in this decision," Weninger said. "These are exciting yet challenging times for our community, and I look forward to working with the Council to keep the community headed in a positive direction."
Vice Mayor Weninger has been a Chandler resident since 1997 and began his tenure on the City Council in June 2006.
