Police find man who was missing from group home

A 62-year-old man missing from a Mesa group home for nearly a week, was located by police on the west side of Phoenix on Saturday.

Roy Santa Cruz, who went missing from his group home near Baseline and Sossaman roads about 12:30 p.m. on June 23, was found in good health, according to Mesa police.

Santa Cruz was located near 13th Avenue and Portland Street.

It wasn't immediately known how Santa Cruz was able to travel from Mesa to Phoenix.

    And just what type of disorder had him in a GROUP home, anyway?
    One of those homes where owners/caregivers promised security when they whined to the Town for permits?
    Who was sheltering him?
