A brush fire in the median on Interstate 17 just south of Camp Verde Wednesday morning forced officials to close down the inside lanes on both directions of the freeway.
The brush fire, which began about 10 a.m., is growing rapidly, Department of Public Safety officials said.
Firefighters are currently working to stop the fire, but traffic will be slow in the area.
