Chandler had its first homicide of the year Friday when an 18-year-old man was stabbed.
Police detectives arrested Tempe man Sixto Balbuena, 20, although no decision has been made on whether to seek charges of first- or second-degree murder.

The victim's name was not released Friday because detectives were still trying to find relatives to notify them, said Sgt. Joe Favazzo, Chandler police spokesman.
Police received a 911 call about 2:40 a.m. from a home in the 2500 block of West Ironwood Drive.
Officers who responded found a man with knife wounds.
The man was taken to a hospital where he died, Favazzo said.
Balbuena, who is in the military, was in the house with a woman, and they were taken in for questioning.
Favazzo said detectives are still trying to piece together the events, but they have gathered enough evidence to arrest Balbuena.
