Maricopa County Sheriff's Office deputies are investigating a homicide of a man in his early 20s at an east Mesa mobile home park that happened sometime on Tuesday.
County Sheriff's deputies released very little information on the shooting death of Adrian Diaz-Prieto, whose body was discovered by a cousin about noon inside his residence in the Rambler Mobile Home and RV Park, 9225 E. Apache Trail on a county island in east Mesa near Ellsworth Road.
A manager at the mobile home and RV park told the Tribune on Wednesday that the victim's cousin and his friend contacted her after they saw his body inside his home.
Diaz-Prieto was slumped against a sliding glass door of the trailer as if he were trying to get out, and blood was on the curtain, the manager said.
An autopsy was scheduled to be conducted on Diaz-Prieto on Friday, a spokeswoman at the Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office told the Tribune on Thursday.
Diaz-Prieto was dressed in basketball shorts the cousin told authorities he always slept in, an indication the crime may have happened in the early morning as he was getting ready to go to work.
Ramirez had lived in the Rambler Mobile Home and RV Park for about two years, according to the manager, who also said that some kind of activity inside the mobile home and RV park woke up residents and caused the dogs to wail between 4:30 a.m. and 5 a.m.
The manager said Diaz-Prieto was married and had two small children.
"I never had any problems with him at all," the manager said. He was always polite and soft spoken."
Deputies did not release a possible motive as the investigation is ongoing.
