Valley Phoenix Suns fans can get their first view of the 2012-13 team when it hosts the annual open practice 10 a.m. Saturday at US Airways Center. The event is open to the public free of charge, according to a press release.
"In honor of the Suns home opener on Halloween night, the team is encouraging fans to donate new or gently-used Halloween costumes, benefiting the children at New Pathways for Youth, formally known as Phoenix Youth at Risk. Fans who donate will be entered into a raffle to win autographed Suns items," the release states.
The event will tip-off with entertainment by The Gorilla, Suns Dancers, Verve Sol Patrol and Solar Squad, and will be highlighted by a team scrimmage conducted by head coach, Alvin Gentry beginning at 11:30 a.m. The open practice will feature returning Suns stars Jared Dudley and Markieff Morris, along with newcomers Michael Beasley and Luis Scola, and 2012 first-round pick, Kendall Marshall.
After practice, fans can join the players on the main court.
The first game of the season will be 7 p.m. Oct. 31 against the Golden State Warriors at US Airways Center.
