Authorities found two bodies in Scottsdale on Tuesday morning — one in the desert at the base of the McDowell Mountains and another in a hotel room near downtown.

A 43-year-old Scottsdale man reported missing by his mother Aug. 25 was believed found by deputies in the desert next to his mountain bike, said Maricopa County sheriff’s Sgt. Paul Chagolla. He was last seen Aug. 11.

The body was significantly decomposed, Chagolla said. Authorities have not confirmed his identity.

Investigators do not believe foul play was involved, Chagolla said.

The car the man had been driving was spotted in a wash near Rio Verde and 132nd Street last week by a sheriff’s helicopter crew and again Monday, officials said. Deputies and Scottsdale police started searching the area Tuesday morning, Chagolla said.

Homicide detectives were investigating the death of a woman whose body was found in a hotel room at the Hilton Garden Inn Scottsdale, 7324 E. Indian School Road, Scottsdale police officer Scott Reed said.

No other information was available on the investigation or her identity, Reed said.
