Breezy, cooler weather hit the Valley today as a storm system moved across the state last night and today.
The storm caused scattered showers and snow in the higher elevation. The Cave Creek and Carefree area received the most rain and “very small” hail, said Mike Bruce, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service’s Phoenix office.
Today’s high was 68 degrees, with a low of 49, which makes it one of the cooler days this month, Bruce said.
Earlier this week the Valley saw highs of 81, and earlier this month the weather was in the 90s.
The normal high around this time of year is 70, with a normal low around 46, he said.
