Hundreds of parents attended the kindergarten roundup open houses held the last week of February at Higley Unified School District’s eight elementary campuses.

Higley’s elementary schools, located primarily in Gilbert, include Centennial, Chaparral, Coronado, Cortina, Gateway Pointe, Higley Traditional Academy, Power Ranch and San Tan. Approximately 110 people attended the open house at Chaparral, 70 visited Cortina, 50 were at Power Ranch, 100 were at San Tan, principals for those schools said.

Families who attended the open houses were given tours of the kindergarten program facilities, and met teachers, staff and principals. Future kindergarten students participated in workshops where they met and played with their classmates and teachers.

Higley’s elementary schools are accepting enrollment applications for kindergartners. The district posted a series of frequently asked questions online, along with a list of documents needed for kindergarten registration at www.husd.org/enrollment.
