Mesa police arrested a man after making a high-risk traffic stop on Sunday, saying the man pointed a rifle at another man and also had numerous other firearms inside car.

The suspect, whose name was not available, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly pointing the gun at the other man at 1598 S. Mesa Drive about 4:30 p.m., moments before police located the suspect’s blue chevy truck at Mesa Drive and Baseline Road.

Police confiscated the rifle from the dashboard of the vehicle, a handgun that he was carrying and numerous other guns in the truck.

It was not immediately known why the suspect may have pointed the gun at the other man.

So why exactly wasn't Arizona State Sen. Lori Klein arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after pointing a loaded gun at a reporter? The law is different in Phoenix? Senators get a freebie on pointing guns? What?

Just because he was in Arizona it doesn't mean he is from Arizona. There is nothing wrong with having a truck load of guns as long as you act responsibly. It may come out that he did have a valid reason to point a gun at someone.

I would never point my gun at someone unless I planned on shooting that person. And if I decided to shoot that person, I will be trying to kill them because I would only do so if I thought my life (or another person's life) was in danger.

Usually, it's enough that the person sees that you are prepared to use it.

    Mr. 666

We do agree on that. The major problem with guns is that people aren't trained and prepared to carry one, and do so anyway. Witness State Sen. Klein.

Anytime guns are mentioned, the fruitloops come here to play. This guy pointing a gun carelessly and recklessly is obviously a few fries short of a happy meal. To all you anti-gun nuts out there, please don't catorgorize all responsible gun owners as this jerk.
