A man acquired an undisclosed amount of cash after robbing a bakery thrift store in Mesa on Wednesday.
The robber entered the shop at 816 E. University Drive about 5:30 p.m. and told the clerk he had a gun as he demanded that she give him all the money from the cash register, according to police.
The suspect, who was described as a white male in his 20s, had brown hair and was wearing a brown or green hoodie with blue jeans.
A customer who arrived at the store as the robbery was in progress, watched the suspect walk toward the alley where another witness noticed a white Ford Escort was left running before it sped off.
A search for the suspect was unsuccessful.
