Monday is the deadline for applying to become Maricopa County's top prosecutor.
The post became vacant last week when Andrew Thomas resigned as Maricopa County attorney to run for state attorney general.
The Board of Supervisors will meet Friday to consider a report by a citizens' committee that will make recommendations on Thomas' replacement.
Until a replacement is picked, Chief Deputy County Attorney Phil MacDonnell will run the county attorney's office.
In the fall, voters will decide who will fill the final two years of Thomas' term.
