In March, Ann-Eve Pedersen, president of the Arizona Education Network, signed the forms launching an initiative drive to make permanent the additional one-cent hike on the state sales tax set to expire the middle of next year. (Capitol Media Services file photo)

Vote NO on this initiative. Education should be funded from the regular state budget not by voter initiative. Next thing you know judges will be determining the will of the people through osmosis.

You need to go back to Coronado High School and take my Business Law class. If you did that you would know that it is not the job of judges under our Constitution to determine questions of fact or to make our laws.
The "law" for initiative petitions is clear and that law was not followed in this case. It is not the job of some activist judge to determine questions of "fact." That is a job for juries in our system of justice. Better yet, encourage the legislature to change the law if you do not like it. Judges don't make our laws either.

I am sorrry to have to tell you something else about our Constitution--it calls for our nation to follow the Rule of Law, not the Rule of Common Sense!

Daddyburger,
This was a superior court judge. Therefore, it was his job to determine issues of fact. Please be sure you are teaching your students the difference between trial law and appellate law. Superior court judges do serve as triers of fact. Just sayin'.

Ken Bennet should be impeached.
If the idiots in the legislature won't fund education, then intelligent people have to take action.
This tea party "activist judge" whining is just that.
Leave politics out of this.
Elect intelligent people, not jerks.
