Phoenix police announced Tuesday a three-pronged strategy for catching a man responsible for multiple sexual assaults in Ahwatukee Foothills: a task force, a reward and a partnership with Silent Witness.

Police did not say how many investigators and support staff have been assigned to the task force, which is meant to intensify the search for the man or others connected to sexual assaults on six women.

The women were attacked or approached while walking or jogging in recreational areas such as parks and golf courses.

Police said they'll allot additional resources to the task force if the need arises.

Silent Witness, a Valley hot line for crime tips, also will help police connect with the community to find witnesses and informants.

Silent Witness is distributing a flyer that describes the man and the crimes, and maps the locations of the incidents.

Police are offering a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to a arrest or the indictment.

The attacker is described as a dark-haired white man, possibly balding, and 25 to 40 years old. He is between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall and weighs around 200 pounds.

Anyone with information should call the Silent Witness hot line (480) 948-6377, or call toll-free 1-800-343-8477.
