This is terrible...this is atrocious... We had a beautiful city park, with a baseball diamond for kids and adults, a lake for fishing, recreation and barbecue area for young families, a soccer court, pet walking area, and even a city-owned affordable golf course. This was taken away from us for the privilige of building a spring training facility for a profitable baseball team. And the billionaire owners are so generous that they will pay for any rtaxpayers costs over $99 million. Too bad since Motorola and AT&T left town, there arent any jopbs in West Mesa tht pay over the minimum wage. They will be coming in from Scottsdale and Paradise Valley from the north, and from Chandler from the south, but noone in this community will even benefit from this taxpayer rip-off. Where was Ralph Nader, where were the Libertarians when all this was being negotiated??? Worse yet, the tarps are blowing away in the wind and the dust is flying and the pollution is just terrible in this area.

The one thing that made the Riverview shopping district attractive was the lovely Riverview park with the lake and babbling brook and green space. Now the park is hidden behind an ugly chain link fence with hideous fabric covering the chain link. Interesting how the City of Mesa is working so hard to drive customers away the Riverview district. Putting a stadium there will also not attract more shoppers, just increase congestion and drive off the current customers.

    Arizona taxpayer logic
1.Taxpayers agree to pay $90M for new stadium
2 Team owner and player make multimillion $ salaries
3 Bonds will be issued to cover cost, all taxpayersfrom top to bottom1% will pay bond interest but the top1% do not wan to pay higher income taxes.
???? Who is dumber Quayle or Obama?/
We know the taxpayers who approved of this stadium for the rich are stupid
