The East Valley Jewish Community Center has announced the hiring of RSP Architects as the designer for its Tolerance & Holocaust Museum, along with former Tempe Mayor Neil Giuliano as RSP's strategic advisor assigned to the project.
RSP Architects most recently completed the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) in Phoenix. A volunteer selection committee chose RSP for its "long history of working on cultural projects that bring great pride to their communities," according to a news release.
The initial fundraiser for the event will be the Jewish Community Center's premiere of the award-winning documentary "Rene & I" at the Chandler Center for the Arts, 7 p.m. Jan. 8. The film tells the story of twins, Rene and Irene, who survived experiments by Josef Mengele after being sent to Auschwitz at age 6.
Tickets cost $25 and are available by calling the JCC at (480) 897-0588 or online at www.evjcc.org.

Ummm, are we going to include the Native-American Indian which were being "Ethnically_Cleansed" by the U.S. War Dept Indian Bounty Program in the 1800s (code word for "eliminated") from the
continental U.S. to make more room for Anglo-European immigrants? 300,000 native-American Navajos were forced to march 150 miles to Fort Sumner, NM in the dead of winter, many being shot & killed along the way for being unable to continue walking in the snow. Let's not forget about the hundreds of Navajo men, women & children also killed in "Massacre Cave" near Canyon de Chelly, Chinle, AZ by Narbona in the 1800s or the 500 Acoma Indians rounded up & having their feet amputated as an example for resisting the Spanish invaders in New Mexico. We should have equal U.S. Holocaustic, ethnic_cleansing representation with the Cherokee Indians in their "Trail of Tears" from Georgia to Oklahoma, as well as the indigenous native-Haw'ns who numbered over 1 million in the Hawaiian Islands in 1778 when English Capt. James Cook first arrived...now, there are a mere 5,000 pure-blooded indigenous native Haw'ns left, victims of white man's disease & neglect. And let's not forget the Muslim ethnic cleansing in Croatia by the Christian Serbs...the U.S. got it's reward for fighting the Bosnian Wars against the Serbs for "humanitarian" reasons with the 9/11 NYC WTC & Pentagon
attacks where 3,000+ American civilans & 150 U.S. military
personnel were killed by Muslim, Jihadist, Arab terrorists...We should have an Indian Pow-wow & Haw'n Luau fundraisers, in addition to the Jewish Holocaust fundraiser...hehehe.

Most americans with any intelligence knows exactly what happened to the native-americans. I think that they should definately be included in this museum and thanks for your comment. As Jewish people, we should always be aware of intolerance and hatred towards any group and do our best to educate people and try and eradicate these kinds of feelings towards other groups of individuals.
