Access to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport will be restricted this weekend, particularly for drivers coming from the East Valley. The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to use the airport’s west entrance and exit as several roads are restricted from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.
During that time, northbound state Route 143 will close from Sky Harbor Boulevard to Washington Street, though drivers can exit to westbound University Drive and travel north on 44th Street to reach the airport. The westbound Loop 202 exit to Sky Harbor will also close, but drivers can exit westbound Loop 202 at Van Buren Street, then go west on Van Buren and south on 44th Street to enter the airport.
When exiting the airport to the east, drivers can access Loop 202 by using eastbound Sky Harbor Boulevard to northbound 44th Street. From there, they turn east on Van Buren to reach Loop 202.
Drivers can reach Interstate 10 and U.S. 60 by leaving the airport on southbound 44th Street, then go east on University Drive and south on Route 143.
