Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy a morning of Memorial Day ceremonies at 9 a.m. Monday at Gilbert Historical Museum, 10 S. Gilbert Road.
The event will open with music performed by the Ahwatukee Foothills Concert Band, followed by presentation and posting of colors by the American Legion Post 39 Color Guard and a welcome by Post Commander Joe Heller. Boy Scout Troop #282 will present the Armed Forces flags, and members of each branch will stand as their song of the Armed Forces Medley is played. The event also will feature a presentation of wreaths and Gilbert Councilman John Sentz and Mayor John Lewis as guest speakers.
The public is also invited to a 2 p.m. Post Everlasting Ceremony & Pot Luck Buffet at Post 39, 206 N. Gilbert Road.
