April is identity theft prevention month, and the Arizona Crime Prevention Association is helping residents combat the problem by hosting a shred-a-thon. The event will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at Premier Document Shredding, 2250 W. Broadway Road, Mesa.
Residents can bring up to five file-size boxes of papers to be destroyed. Paper clips, staples and folders are allowed.
Participants will have the opportunity to view their documents being securely shredded. The shredding of confidential documents helps to protect people from becoming the victim of identity theft.
