Ear Candy charity kicks off their first Weekend Warrior concert series at the Hard Rock Café in Phoenix from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Oct. 13.

The bands that will participate predominately include working professionals — doctors, lawyers, bankers, insurance brokers and IT specialists — for whom music has taken a backseat to full-time careers. By bringing together music lovers from all professions, Ear Candy hopes to raise awareness about the importance and impact that music has on the lives of youth. There is a $5 suggested donation at the door and funds raised will support Ear Candy’s efforts in providing youth access to music education.

Saturday’s bands will feature Retro-Active, a ’80s, ’90s and 2K cover band, and Pearl Ridge, a Janis Joplin and Melissa Etheridge tribute band. The Hard Rock Café is located at 3 S. 2nd St., Phoenix.
