Two men were arrested in connection with the shooting of a woman earlier this month that caused her non-life threatening injuries.

Clayton Boyd, 21, of Apache Junction, who police say shot a woman in the hip on June 7, was arrested about 8 p.m. Wednesday on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, prohibited possession of a weapon and possession of a stolen weapon and is being held in the Pinal County Jail, according to Apache Junction police.

James Illies, 18, of Apache Junction, also was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of prohibited possession of a weapon.

Boyd is being held in the jail on $100,000 bond, and Illies is being held on $10,000 bond, according to police.

While responding to the incident on June 7, police discovered bullet casings and stolen vehicles.
