Curious about events occurring in Africa, the Middle East and Asia? Starting Monday, you can hear a different perspective when Radio Phoenix begins offering English language broadcasts of Al Jazeera.
"We are very pleased to be able to add another voice to our national and international news coverage," Victor Aronow, president of the Arizona Community Media Foundation, said in a news release. "Al Jezeera, like our Native American news programming, brings a broad perspective on issues and views that are largely unrepresented in Arizona communities."
Al Jazeera received the Columbia School of Journalism Award for its international reporting in May. To catch the news service's broadcasts, tune in to the Internet radio service radiophoenix.org from 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily starting next week.
