Earl Macneil, 80, of Scottsdale works long hours as a helping hand and custodian, at the Conoco gas station on the southeast corner of Power and Baseline roads in Mesa.

Macneil is in charge of filling propane tanks for customers and enjoys talking to people as he works.

Macneil, who retired from McKesson Pharmaceutical in Michigan, moved to Arizona about two years ago. “He is a great guy,” said Pam Rzendzian, who owns the station.
