Mesa police arrested a 21-year-old man Saturday after he is accused of firing a pistol at a car, striking the driver in the leg, according to a court document.
The shooting occurred at 4:30 p.m. at an apartment complex at 546 S. Country Club Drive.
According to the document, the alleged victim, a woman, was preparing to leave the complex in a car with a passenger.
Joshua Daniel Turner walked toward the car with a silver handgun in his hand and began yelling and shooting into the driver's side door, according to the court document.
One round went through the door and struck the woman's left leg.
The woman was taken to a hospital, but she was expected to recover.
Turner left, but police tracked him down to a motel at Country Club Drive and Main Street.
