A car wash and a memorial fund have been set up to help with funeral expenses for a Higley High School graduate.

George Anthony Carbajal Camacho, who may have been known to classmates as just George Camacho, died Jan. 2 in an early-morning rollover wreck on the Loop 202 Santan Freeway near Val Vista Drive, according to authorities.

Department of Public Safety officials said Carbajal Camacho’s gray, 1998 Chevrolet SUV ran off the right side of the road onto the dirt shoulder for unknown reasons. Authorities said the vehicle flipped and ejected Carbajal Camacho, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time.

DPS said he was prounced dead at the scene.

The 19-year-old graduated from Higley High School in 2008, according to the Higley Unified School District.

A car wash will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Applebee’s restaurant on Power and Ray roads, according to an e-mail sent to parents Thursday.

A memorial fund has also been set up with Wells Fargo Bank under George Carbajal Camacho’s name. The reference number at the bank is 1966763334.

“All donations will be used for funeral expenses and will be deeply appreciated,” according to the district e-mail.
