Gasoline price increases slowed to a trickle this week, according to AAA Arizona.
In the East Valley, the average price of a gallon of regular self-serve gas is $2.65, up only three-tenths of a cent from last week.
Statewide, the average is also $2.65, up less than 1 cent.
The slow increase is an indication that pump prices are reaching a plateau, but the price could bump up again as the Labor Day holiday draws near, said Linda Gorman, public affairs director for AAA Arizona.
Still, "given continued strong supplies and weak demand, gas prices are likely to level off in the near future," she said.
