Brenda Hardy, a reading specialist at Gilbert's Carol Rae Ranch Elementary School, will receive a check for almost $4,000 as a top applicant selected by the Qwest/AzTEA Grant Review Committee.
Hardy wrote the grant for Fluency through Technology and is using the funds to purchase a projector, a document camera, an INTERWRITEMOBI®, and six iPod touches.
Hardy proposed that students will become more fluent readers with the repeated readings and the audio feedback they receive by listening to their recordings.
