Detectives with the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office have arrested Johnathan Krieger, 47, an Apache Junction High School teacher, for alleged sexual conduct with a minor.

Krieger, a teacher since 2002, has been teaching science and German in Apache Junction since 2005.  Krieger, also known as John Snell and Johnathan Raye, has also been a teacher at Sequoia Charter School in Mesa and Apache Trail High School in Apache Junction.

Detectives began an investigation after receiving information from a person who reported they believed there may be a "relationship" between Krieger, of Gold Canyon, and a 16-year- old student at Apache Junction High School.  The investigation revealed evidence to support the accusations and several warrants were issued to include a search warrant to seize a personal computer at the high school.

Detectives took Kreiger into custody early Friday after he left his residence for work.

"Sex crimes against our children will not be tolerated," said Sheriff Paul Babeu. "Our sheriff's office will aggressively investigate these reported crimes and pursue justice for our most vulnerable victims. Sexual predators must be stopped."

Kreiger was arrested and booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Facility in Florence and is being held with a $250,000 bond.  The investigation is ongoing and detectives encourage anyone with information to contact the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office Person Crimes Unit.
