Phoenix Suns stars Amaré Stoudemire and Shaquille O’Neal will partner with international hunger relief organization Feed the Children to provide families with boxes of food and personal care items next weekend.
The event will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Save The Family Foundation of Arizona, 450 W. Fourth Place in Mesa.
The foundation is a Feed The Children partner agency that has identified all 400 families that will each receive more than 40 pounds of food and personal care items.
Stoudemire and O’Neal are teaming with the organization and will attend the event.
“We are so happy to get the chance to work with Amaré Stoudemire and Shaquille O’Neal,” said Larry Jones, president and co-founder of Feed the Children.
“They are both role models to many, and what better way to set a great example than by helping hundreds of needy families.”
Feed The Children is a Christian, nonprofit relief organization that delivers food, medicine, clothing and various other necessities to families who lack these basic essentials.
“We thank Amaré and Shaq for their support and for working with us to help change the lives of many families,” Jones said.
