SRP EarthWise Energy customers have selected three Valley charities - A New Leaf Inc., Boys and Girls Club of Metropolitan Phoenix, and Hospice of the Valley - to receive solar energy systems valued at $45,000 each.

The systems will allow the nonprofits to offset their electricity usage and save money on their monthly electric bills so they can direct more funds to the communities they serve, according to a news release. They will also reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

SRP EarthWise Energy is a voluntary program that SRP customers can participate in for as little as $3 per month, with 100 percent of the funds used to provide solar photo voltaic systems to Valley nonprofit organizations.
