A 46-year-old Glendale man died this morning after a truck struck him as he was riding his bicycle on his way to work.

Mike Tellef, a Peoria Police spokesman, said the man was traveling westbound at 7 a.m. in the 7700 block of West Northern Avenue when a 71-year-old man driving a semi-truck collided with him.

Tellef said the driver works for a local construction company. The man on the bicycle was dead at the scene.

The accident is still under investigation.
