Who wouldn't want to spend a couple of hours a week with horses? Especially horses in need. Gilbert's Wildhorse Ranch Rescue, 11811 Lindsay Road, is seeking volunteers for its feed team.
According to the volunteermatch.org ad, you must be 18 or older, commit to working at least one shift per week, and be able to follow feeding recipes for the horses. You should also be physically capable of mucking stalls, be comfortable around all types of horses, and have a willingness to help horses that have some type of impairment or limitation. Volunteers also must have reliable transportation and be able to work as a team.
Shifts at Wildhorse Ranch Rescue are flexible, but in general can range from 5 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and from 4-9 p.m. It takes about two hours to care for the horses.
Wildhorse Ranch Rescue is also seeking volunteers to help out with its Kitty City for feral and domesticated cats, and program managers for administrative work.
Wildhorse Ranch Rescue is a registered 501c3 charity that has been rescuing animals for 16 years in Arizona. For more information, visit www.whrr.org or call 866-926-8007. To volunteer, email Skip DeNardo at skip@whrr.org.
