The following recall has been announced because the products may be contaminated with salmonella, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, especially in young children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems:
Snackerz Inc. is recalling Snackerz Roasted & Salted Peanuts. No illnesses have been reported, according to the company. The recalled peanuts were distributed in California, Nevada, Arizona and Texas in retail stores and through mail orders.
The recalled product was sold in a 2.5 ounce, plastic bag labeled as Snackerz Roasted & Salted Peanuts with a UPC code 7-61584-19701-1 and with a best before or best buy date of May 20, 2006, through Nov. 12, 2009, on the top of the package and an expiration date stamped on the side.
