The average gasoline price has dropped across the state and nation for the first time in three months, according to research by AAA Arizona.
A gallon of regular gasoline in the East Valley on Thursday cost an average of $2.81, a 4.6-cent decrease from last week. The state average was $2.88 and national average $2.90, with both figures a four-cent drop from a week ago.
Tucson and Flagstaff hold the state’s low and high fuel averages, at $2.77 and $3.06, respectively.
This week, oil prices retreated sharply, after spending much of the spring in the mid- to high-$80 per barrel range.
