Valley Metro will begin surveying passengers in the first week of November to help the transit agency plan routes and service levels. Surveyors will wear a light blue vest and wear a Valley Metro badge, and will question riders when they are at transit stops, on a bus or riding the light rail.
Riders will be asked how they got to the bus or light rail, the location they boarded, where they are going and how they typically get transit information. Questions include age and household income, which assist in planning services. The survey is required to receive federal funding. Surveys will be conducted in English and Spanish, and on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays through Jan. 31. Riders who complete surveys will be entered into a drawing for prizes, transit passes and gift certificates. Valley Metro will gather 10,000 surveys.
