An air quality health watch has been extended through Tuesday because of high ozone levels in the Valley.

The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality issues a health watch when ozone may near federal limits.

Ozone can aggravate existing respiratory conditions. It is created when sunlight heats pollutants already in the air, such as combustion.

The health watch is being extended because of a forecast of high temperatures and low winds.
