Scheduled to perform a post-game concert after the Arizona Diamondbacks play the Los Angeles Dodgers at Chase Field on July 2, Daryl Hall and John Oates have decided they can’t go for that.
The pair, which had six No. 1 hits in the 1970s and '80s, has canceled the show. The reason? Arizona’s new immigration law.
In a statement released on Monday, Hall and Oates said: “In addition to our personal convictions, we are standing in solidarity with the music community in our boycott of performing in Arizona at this time. We would like to emphasize that this has nothing to do with the management of the Arizona Diamondbacks, who have been professional and cooperative throughout our dealings with them. This is our response to a very specific action of the state.”
The concert was part of the D-Backs’ weekend celebration honoring Independence Day. Other events, including a postgame fireworks show on July 3, will go on as planned.
“We understand the reasoning behind Daryl Hall and John Oates not wanting to perform in Arizona at this time to solidify themselves with their peers in the music industry,” D-Backs president and CEO Derrick Hall said in a statement. “The cancelation of this post-game concert is another example of how controversial this issue is.”

I don't have any of their albums. I wasn't planning on going to the concert. Their actions have no effect on my plans....

These has-beens can easily be replaced with true Americans who believe in obeying the law and in protecting our borders.

Uh oh! Hall and Oates, in solidarity with the music community, are opposed to Arizona's new law. That probably means that any other state considering a similar law better think twice! The music community is a well-respected authority on immigration legislation, so keep that in mind, Arizonans!
