Lightning from dry thunderstorms may have caused a brush fire burning in the West Valley, according to the National Weather Service.
A fire ignited on the Gila River Indian Community near 91st Avenue and Dobbins Road around 5 p.m. Wednesday and quickly spread to more than 100 acres, according to the Gila River Fire Department.
Firefighters from the Gila River, Avondale, Buckeye and Phoenix fire departments were working to extinguish the flames.
There were no structures in potential danger and no injuries reported as of Wednesday evening.
