A man died Wednesday night when he jumped from the Alma School Road freeway overpass onto the westbound lanes of U.S. 60 in Mesa.
The man, who was not identified by police, jumped off the bridge at 7:49 p.m. He was transported by ambulance to Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn hospital, where he was pronounced dead, a police spokesman said.
Police said no foul play is suspected, and there were witnesses to the incident. The freeway was closed for a time and Department of Public Safety officers helped with traffic.
