Tempe Town Lake is empty after one of four rubber dams on the south end tore late Tuesday night. The lake is expected to be closed until early November while a new dam structure is put in place.

This serves Tempe right. Back in 1996 when I paid into the scamorgization called ASU for the privilege of parking in Lot 59, they forced us to park out where the lake is now because of super bowl XXX.
That left a bad taste in my mouth, but at least now they get to deal with a bad smell right under their nose.
