Several wives of current and former Arizona Cardinals football players, including the wives of Matt Ware, Karlos Dansby and Jerheme Urban, are slated for a charity shopping spree at Sam’s Club in Chandler Thursday.
The women, who represent the Off the Field Players’ Wives Association, will choose $10,000 worth of gifts at Sam’s Club, 1375 S. Arizona Ave., for 10 families selected by the Salvation Army, according to Jessica Gonzalez, event publicist. The event is slated for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The shopping spree is meant to fill baskets with clothes, household products and toys to brighten the season for needy local families. Each family will also receive a $200 gift card for a holiday meal and other food.
The players’ wives also will ring bells and help with the traditional Salvation Army Red Kettle Drive, and assist in wrapping gifts.
