Phoenix Sun Charities has named Chandler's ICAN, a nonprofit that serves youth, recipient of the annual Playmaker Award grant of $100,000. The award is the largest amount given annually and is funded by Phoenix Suns Charities' 39 Playmaker donors.

ICAN was chosen for its youth programs that help prevent substance abuse, gang activity, and juvenile delinquency in youth ages 5 to 18.

The grant will go toward construction of a new 21,000-square foot facility that will include a basketball court, six classrooms, a technology and learning center, teen center, administrative offices, community conference rooms and a gym.
